Default Show yourself as available for missions

I've noticed in the outposts that alot of people are either asking for people to join them in missions, or to join someone's group.

Perhaps there could be an emote that will both graphically show that you are available and looking for a group, aswell as writing as normal emotes?
For example, just simply putting your arm up pointing to the sky. Then people who are looking to fill that last spot in their group, easily can see those that are waiting to get an invitation.

I like the idea. It might also stop people from just adding you without even asking; an awkward situation to get out of without being rude if you can't help them at that particular moment in time. Maybe your name could change colour to, say, red, when you are available?

something else to add would be a different action for /afk then to sit down. I sit all the time, it helps me relax. the /afk action should be something like lying down, or maybe a meditation pose, or something that you know won't or shouldn't be disturbed. /sit is just sitting...

I sometimes use the /bowhead emote for that. I think it looks like my character has nodded off... especially the Warrior class.

Whenever someone is in a group, their name is in Dark Blue.. If they are NOT in a group, their name is in Light Blue.

However, not everyone standing around not in a group is looking for one. THey might just be waiting for their group members to trickle in. THat being the case. I think they should add some sort of "over the head" sign for folks activiely seeking a group to game with. Not the exclamation point, but SOMETHING.

Yeah I like the idea of having an easy way for people to show LFG or Not LFG.

This is one thing I actually miss from SoE. Their interface for community interaction and chat was one of the best and most intuitive I've ever seen.

If you were Looking for a Group, you put on your /LFG tag.

If you were Away From the Keyboard, you put on your /AFK tag.

Etc.

Not everyone will automagically understand that if you're sitting on the ground, you're AFK and there is no way at present other than spamming the area to indicate that you're looking for a group.

This should change.

That would be my solution, a toggle, like /lfg. A would-be party leader can see some indicator, just like players can see party's size over the leader's head. And if you click an /lfg player, you can see their current active quest list. This would not only help find members but like-minded (or at least like-missioned) players. 'Course now that the casino spam is gone and you can toggle trade off, finding PUGs is pretty much the way it used to be.

You really should keep the /afk stuff in a separate thread. (maybe like CoH's paper reading with their "thought bubble" statement? /afk hmm... thai, pizza, or indian? )

I like the LFG system of Everquest. You could easily see what class, what zone, what lvl, and their objective etc. of LFGers in the LFG window. It really makes LFGing very easy.
